History: Little is known about the life of Nebula before she hijacked Sanctuary II, the enormous Space-Ark/Dreadnaught built and used as a base of operations by the mutant Titanian named Thanos, whom Nebula claims is her Grandfather (There has never been any genetic evidence for this rather dubious assertion). What is known is that Nebula was the daughter of Zorr the Conqueror (a sworn enemy of the Xandarian Nova Corps) and that her childhood was anything but pleasant, as she was sexually abused by her father. Despite her lack of concrete proof to back her claim, she was convincing enough to take command of Thanos' displaced armada of Space-Pirates, who remained directionless after the demise of their master.
A short time after Thanos became permanently transfixed between life and death, Nebula sent a small band of her most trusted aides to Sanctuary II to repair its hyper-drive engines and teleport the station out of the solar system. The underlings, were met by the hero Captain Marvel (now, Photon) who had been sent to Sanctuary II by the Avengers to investigate possible activity. Nebula’s minions warped the vessel out of the solar system with Captain Marvel aboard and rendezvoused with Nebula.
Nebula planned to conquer the Skrull empire, locked in a state of chaos and strife in the aftermath of the destruction of their throneworld by the planet-destroyer Galactus. Not knowing how to return home, Captain Marvel pretended to go along with Nebula’s scheme but actually helped the Skrulls evacuate the outpost world Nebula was intent on destroying. The Avengers eventually located their missing member and allied themselves with the Skrulls to oppose her. Before the Avengers were able to catch up with Nebula, she annihilated both the Skrull outpost and the planet Xandar, home planet of the Avengers’ ally Firelord. In battle with Nebula, the Avenger Starfox, brother of Thanos, learned that Nebula was allegedly Thanos’ granddaughter, and thus his great-niece. Shortly thereafter, the virtually omnipotent Beyonder, curious about the Avengers, arrived, and in an attempt to help the Avengers vanquish Nebula, helped her and her minions to escape them by teleportlng them out of the Andromeda Galaxy. Starfox and Firelord began searching known space for her and her pirates, although for separate reasons.
Nebula managed to evade her pursuers and resumed her career of piracy with her crew. They managed to purloin a device known as the Infinity Union from the planet of the enigmatic alien known as the Stranger. She then somehow learned of a scientist on Earth who was developing a powerful energy source known as the Atomic Compressor. The Atomic Compressor succeeded in negating all of reality, which led her into conflict with the Avengers once again.
The Avengers, with their ally Spider-Man, defeated and captured the space-pirate, but a fighting-mad Stranger burst in, searching for the Infinity Union. Which had since absorbed the energies created from the negation of reality. Fearing that neither the Stranger nor anyone else was worthy of wielding such a dangerous device, the Avengers decide to track down the Infinity Union themselves. An increasingly unnerved Spider-Man, unaccustomed to dealing with cosmic menaces, found the device first--and then accidentally set it off. Nebula had arranged to absorb the power of the Infinity Union and become a supreme being. The Avengers and the Stranger managed to thwart her regardless, stripping her of the Infinity Union's power, though Nebula managed to escape capture with her crewman Guntar.
Some time later, Nebula came face-to-face with her alleged Grandfather Thanos, who had at the time was in the process of gathering the so-called Infinity Gems to create the Infinity Gauntlet and thereby achieve practical omnipotence. Thanos scoffed at Nebula’s familial claims, and quickly punished her for her insolence by setting her ablaze with his eye-beams. Engulfed by flames, Nebula ran screaming through the ship's corridors and soon collapsed. She was quickly found by Bo's'n Mantrax, who secreted her away and attempted to nurse her back to health. After gathering the Infinity Gems, the now omnipotent Thanos returned to the armada and detected Nebula's continued existence. He found her barely clinging to life, and as a gift to the embodiment of Death, transformed her into a hideous, shambling parody, forever walking the fine line between life and death. Unfortunately for Thanos, following his victory over Earth's defenders and the assembled might of Eternity's cosmic brigade, he allowed himself to be distracted by his new status as the supreme being of this actuality, and thus failed to notice Nebula until she stole the Infinity Gauntlet. Now omnipotent herself, she faced an entourage of cosmic beings including Galactus, Master Order, Lord Chaos, the Stranger and Death herself. Soon, however, the original Soul Gem owner, Adam Warlock, subverted the Infinity Gauntlet for himself. Starfox elected to take Nebula into custody of the Eternals on Titan, where an emotional confrontation with Firelord left her comatose.
Soon, the care of Nebula fell to the cloned duplicate of her former aide Geatar, who eventually manged to escape with nebula in tow. He took her to a dead moon in the Siminian Galaxy where Geatar planned to enlist the aid of the surgeon Dr. Mandibus. After more than 20 hours of surgery, Nebula's mind was restored, and was now augmented by a cybernetic left arm, as well as a bionic left eye, and an artificial skull-plate on the same side. After "settling" with Mandibus, Geatar remained openly skeptical, but Nebula claimed to feel better and more deadly than ever. Nebula then declared her intentions to free the rest of her crew, and the pair traveled to Penal colony Annoval 14: aka The Anvil. Their plans there were interrupted by the presence of the Silver Surfer, but they still managed to make a hostage of Chancellor Stipe, the "warden" at the Anvil and thus hold the Surfer off. However, the situation took a turn when they unexpectedly ran into the Surfer's ally, Jack of Hearts, who blasted Nebula to the floor and flew Stipe to safety. In the chaos that followed, Geatar was injured and Nebula was forced to leave him behind, knowing full well that the exhaust from the escape rocket would incinerate him and her crew. The Surfer managed to save Stipe and a single crewman, but Geatar died once more.
Later, the Silver Surfer again encountered Nebula when he accompanied Genis-Vell on a trip to a pleasure-planet. Nebula had assumed the guise of a dancing girl there, and assumed that the Surfer had somehow tracked her to that location. She managed to remain unnoticed for a time, but the Surfer eventually caught a glimpse of her, and Genis assumed that she was simply one of the strippers. However, Nebula soon revealed her identity to Genis, and attacked him, saying she simply wished to be left alone. However, her panic soon overcamer, and she resorted to her treacherous ways, endangering not only Genis and the Surfer, but many innocents as well. The Surfer nonetheless overcame the unrepentant space-pirate, and used the Power Cosmic to restrain her until the authorities could return her to the Anvil. As she was taken away, Nebula vowed that she would have her revenge upon him.
Eventually, Nebula managed to escape imprisonment once again. Seemingly fully restored to her original condition, she next appeared to attack the young hero Nova (Richard Ryder). Nebula claimed that Nova had previously murdered her father Zorr, an archemeny of Nova Prime, the hero of Xandar whose powers Nova had inherited. (This was the same reason that led her to destroy the planet Xandar before.) Zorr had, in fact, been accidentally killed when he activated an energy device when battling Nova. Nova succeeded in driving Nebula off, and she once again fled to deep space.
Height: 5'8"
Eyes: Black
Weight: Unknown
Hair: Black
Skin: Light Blue
Strength level: Unknown. Possibly the same strength as that of a normal Earth human woman of her physical age, height, and build who engaged in intensive regular exercise.

When Nebula was infused with vast energy by the Infinity Union, she possessed virtually unlimited superhuman powers, but this was a temporary state. Later still, Nebula gained practical omnipotence for the brief time she held the Infinity Gauntlet.
Weapons: Nebula almost always wears blasters on wrists that fire potent blasts of energy, capable of incinerating a human being. She has also worn a device that enabled her to disguise her true appearance.
