History:

Over one million years ago, the Celestials, a star-spanning race of gigantic humanoids possessing vast cosmic-power, visited the Earth. Here, as they had done on countless worlds before and since, they began a series of experiments upon this planet's highest lifeform, Homo Erectus, the ancient ancestor of the human race. Their efforts created three distinct species of humankind: The Deviants, a genetically unstable, but highly adaptable, sub-species. The Eternals, an extremely advanced offshoot with long-lives, and highly developed bodies and minds, capable of manipulating limited quantities of cosmic energy. And lastly, what would eventually evolve into Homo Sapiens, implanted with a dormant genetic code that would eventually culminate in benevolent mutations. Once their experiements were complete, the First Host of the Celestials released their test-subjects and left our planet.

Time passed, and the three branches of humanity grew in numbers. Mainstream humans eventually evolved over the ages, and began to slowly shape their own way of life. The Deviants grew in numbers and became increasingly jealous and paranoid of the Eternals and normal humans. The Eternals too, grew in number, but very slowly. Hardy though they were, their great potential lay largely dormant. As the normal humans continued to develop and breed, many of the Eternals decided they were best gotten rid of. Matters came to a head when Chronos, leader of a group of Eternals who espoused the way of peaceful coexistence, clashed with his brother Uranos, who led the warmongers, a move which resulted in a devastating Civil War. In the end, Chronos and his followers won out, but the victory was very nearly a hollow one. Almost nine tenths of the Eternals lay dead, and their capital city, Titanos, lay in ruins.

In his first act as the uncontested leader of the Eternals' destiny, Chronos banished Uranos and his remaining band of followers from the Earth itself. Chronos and his followers then used their powers to transform Uranos and his compatriots into living energy, flinging them free of Earth's gravity, and into space itself. As the banished Eternals began their new journey, Chronos, disgusted with the toll the war had wrought on his people, forswore strife and violence, and totally dedicated himself to the ways of peace, knowledge, and science. Their path now set, the Eternals began the rebuilding of their city and society.

In time, Chronos would take a wife, Daina, who would bear him many children, including his two eldest sons, Zuras and A'Lars. As their mother tutored them in peace and saftey, Chronos would spend many hours in his laboratory, searching for the key to unlocking the full genetic birthright of his race: A self-regenerating cosmic life force. He spent many years of labor in pursuit of this elusive goal, and eventually he happened upon a promising solution, managing to isolate a potent sample of cosmic energy, and containing it inside a tube designed specifically to hold it. However, the tube proved too fragile, and its rupture triggered a tremendous explosion. The discharge of raw energy was so powerful, that Chronos was disintegrated, and the rebuilt city of Titanos was destroyed once more. However, the cosmic-energy bombardment unlocked the full potential of the Eternals as a race, granting them virtual invulnerability and practical immortality, along with the ability to manipulate cosmic-energy on a much larger scale. What's more, the irradiation activated the latent genes within their DNA, allowing these traits to be passed down to the next generation of full-blooded Eternals. In the aftermath of this momentous event, the sons of Chronos stepped forward, calling their fellows together to once more decide the future of their race, unaware as yet that their father and leader had survived, and had grown into something far more powerful.

Though Chronos's body had been obliterated, his atoms scattered across the ruins of Titanos, his mind and spirit remained, augmented to a far greater degree than the rest of his race. His powers were now nearly immesurable, granting Chronos the lofty status of Cosmic Entity. As his sons gathered the Eternals together, their father, now re-dubbed Kronos, appeared before them and told them exactly what had transpired. Afterwards, he turned his expanded mind to matters of far greater scope, testing the limits of his newfound might. Zuras soon took charge of the Earthbound Eternals, relocating to what would become known as Olympia in Greece, while A'Lars left his home-world to forge a new destiny on the moon later known as Titan, largest satellite of the planet Saturn. In time, cosmic concerns loomed largest in Kronos' mind, while his people forged ahead independent of the influence of their all-father.

Thousands of years passed, and Kronos grew fully into his role as a cosmic being, becoming an aspect of time itself. But the passage of time became almost meaningless to one such as he, and in the equivalent of a cosmic eyeblink, his people would soon cry desperately for his aid.

A'Lars, now known as Mentor, had forged a peaceful, advanced society within Titan, based upon his father's teachings. However, a serpent had come to power within this Eden, in the form of Mentor's eldest son, Thanos. Banished from his home due to his villainy, Thanos had returned to Titan in force, devastating the planetoid with a nuclear bombardment, and overruning it with an army of mercenaries. With his own wife counted among the slain, Mentor called out to his father for aid. Kronos, who had observed all that had transpired, appeared before his son, and was moved by Titan's plight. At Mentor's suggestion, Kronos moved to create a being with enough might to challenge and perhaps defeat his wayward grandson. Using his vast powers, Kronos seized the astral form of the deceased Earthman, Arthur Douglas, before it could pass completely from this plane. Kronos then fashoined a humanoid body from the very rock and earth of his homeworld, imbued it with formidable cosmic power, and placed Douglas' conciousness inside it. He would then go on to block the memories of Douglas' former life, and instilled a burning, single-minded hatred for Thanos. Thus was born Drax the Destroyer, a living engine of destruction, dedicated to the goal of seeing Thanos utterly destroyed.

Unfortunately, this effort turned out to be somewhat half-hearted. While Drax would go on to become Thanos' nemesis, thwarting several of the Mad Titan's schemes, Drax was never able to defeat Thanos himself, who would go on to gain the prize he had sought for many years: The Cosmic Cube. With the cube in his possession, Thanos quickly conquered Titan, and brought its defenders to its knees, even imprisoning Kronos himself. Thanos would go on to use the cube to merge his conciousness with the universe itself, and in the end he was defeated due to the unbreakable resolve of the Kree-born hero, Captain Marvel. Eventually, in a later battle, Thanos would be slain by the being known as Adam Warlock, and later still, Drax would be killed by his own daugher, the hero known as Moondragon.

With Thanos defeated, Kronos was free once more to pursue his cosmic goals, formost of which was Kronos' deep desire to catch a glimpse of the abstract entity known as Infinity, the true embodiment of time itself. However, in significantly less than a cosmic eyeblink, Thanos would return at the behest of his beloved Mistress Death, and become an even greater threat to the cosmos than before. Sensing the rebirth of his evil grandson, Kronos revived Drax once more, granting him even greater strength and cosmic power. However, Kronos failed to take the nature of Drax's demise into account, and the behemoth that now arose was severly brain-damaged. Drax would go on to finally confront Thanos alongside the Silver Surfer, but it was far too late, as Thanos had already gathered the mighty Infinity Gems, a move that made him the supreme being of our reality. Thanos would then go on to slay half of the sapient beings in the cosmos as a gift for Death.

Still, the cosmos rallied to defy Thanos, and Kronos soon joined a cosmic brigade, gathered at the behest of the reborn Adam Warlock. Flanked by the likes of the Stranger, Eon, Galactus, the Celestials, and even all-powerful Eternity, Kronos would soon be called upon to battle his wayward grandson following the defeat of Earth's remaining champions. However, the combined might of Eternity's cosmic brigade proved insufficient, their powers amounting to less than nothing against Thanos' divinity, and all were defeated and captured. Soon, Eternity himself joined his fellow cosmic beings in defeat, and Thanos once more abanoned the flesh, becoming one with the Universe itself. However, Thanos' own subconcious desires soon proved to be his undoing, and eventually the cosmic balance was restored.

After the being known as Maelstrom lost his physical body in a battle with the Avengers, his essence lived on, now bursting with vast, kenetic-based energies. In this form, Maelstrom encountered Kronos, and learnt of the abstract entity known as Anomaly, the embodiment of all things that are like no other things. Maelstrom went on to attack Anomaly, and succeeded in temporarily usurping its power, thus becoming an agent of Oblivion. In the struggle that ensued, Infinity was forced into action, appointing the Earth-hero Quasar as her champion, and augmenting him with a fraction of her might. As Quasar went on to defeat Maelstrom's plan to destroy the cosmos, Kronos finally glimpsed Infinity. Today, Kronos remains an aspect of Infinity, attending to cosmic matters in his own subtle fashion.

Height: Inapplicable
Eyes: Inapplicable
Weight: Inapplicable
Hair: Inapplicable

Strength level: Inapplicable.

Known superhuman powers: Kronos possesses a level of intelligence that ranks far above superhuman, and well as telepathy, and cosmic awareness. He can evidently exert control over the souls of deceased mortals, even to the extent of using them to animate artificial bodies, which he can create from inanimate matter. Kronos has also become one of the embodiments of time, and as such can exert an unknown degree of control over its flow, which he does in very subtle ways when required.
