History: win natives of the Roclite race from the planet Rocklon in the Tarl system of the Milky Way, this duo became known as the Blood Brothers and entered the service of the Titanian despot Thanos. The earliest reports of their activity on Earth come from Iron Man's encounter with them in a base belonging to Thanos. Drax the Destroyer was imprisoned by Thanos, and telepathically contacted Iron Man (Anthony Stark) and directed him to Thanos' hidden underground Arizona base just west of the small town of Devil's Tongue, New Mexico. The Brothers, acting as servants to Thanos, were defeated by Iron Man and Drax and the base was seemingly destroyed. When Thanos later gained control of the Cosmic Cube, Iron Man returned to that base's remains seeking clues, and again encountered and defeated the Brothers, this time with the help of the Thing (Ben Grimm). Believed destroyed by Thanos for their failure, they were actually transported to a still-hidden deeper portion of the base. Cross-country trucker C.W. Crenshaw met the Blood Brothers when they stopped his truck on Interstate 10 and forced him to transport them to New York City, where they hoped to free the Controller. Exposed near New York by police, they battled both Iron Man and Daredevil, who defeated them when it was learned, to the Blood Brothers' apparent surprise, that they shared a "symbionic link," and their strength depended on how close the Brothers were to each other(presumably this link was created by Thanos, possibly using the Cosmic Cube). With this information in hand, the pair was separated, one brother placed in the ultra-security section of Ryker's island, the other placed in a similar cell in New Jersey's McGuire Air Force Base.
Years later, the U.S. Air Force discovered that Thanos' Arizona base still existed, extending nearly a mile underground. Scientists there accidentally triggered a long-range molecular transmitter grid, teleporting both Blood Brothers to the base. The Avengers recaptured them, and Starfox (Eros of Titan) adapted a symbio-nullifier from the base's equipment to nullify each Brother's powers. The pair was placed in the Vault , but when Quasar (Wendell Vaughn) proposed removing the pair from Earth, his offer was accepted and the two were left on the surface of Mars. One Blood Brother was subsequently encountered and captured in Arnette, Texas by the USAgent, and his unexplained presence alerted the U.S. government's Superhuman Tactical Activities Response Squad (STARS) to a plot by the Kree/Ruul attempting to declare Earth an intergalactic prison. The uncaptured Blood Brother freed his partner, but the two were almost immediately recaptured by the X-Men's Rogue and a renegade Skrull named Z'Cann.
S.H.I.E.L.D. Retained the Blood Brothers for study when the other "prisoners" were deported from Earth, isolating the Brothers for individual examination. After one Brother nearly escaped the Raft during Electro's break-in, the Brothers were again transported off-planet, as per "Maximum Security" protocols, although contact with their prison transport has since been lost.
Height: 6' 4"
Eyes: Red
Weight: 500 lbs
Hair: None
Abilities: The Blood Brothers are symbionically linked, such that the nearer they are to each other, the stronger they grow. When in close proximity to each other, they can each lift 50 tons and have been able to fell Iron Man and the Thing. The Blood Brothers' dietary needs include chemicals found in human blood, forcing them to act semi-vampirically while on Earth. The Brothers' lungs are also highly adaptable; each is capable withstanding extreme and diverse atmospheres so that their need to breathe is almost nonexistent.
User Notes: Iron Man: "These guys are brutal. If you see one, look out for the other. By any means you can, get them as far apart as possible. I've found out the hard way that trying to take them on as a pair is a big mistake. Ben Grimm will back me up on this."
Project: PEGASUS clarifications: No known connection to the motorcycle gang encountered by X-51 (Machine Man).
