You can't have an RPG without players, right? So, to that end, we managed to get a few. Without further ado, here are the people behind Natalie the Vampire Slayer: Randall "Corvus" Lilly
![]()
Yahoo: darkcorvus70 Bio: Randall, or Randy to his friends, lives in Huntington, WV. He's been married to his wife, Crystal, for 12 years, and they have a daughter named Chelsea, and 6 adopted children of the furry, feline persuasion. A long-time illustrator, Randall has garnered two WV Press Association awards for his work. He is 36. His hobbies include reading (The BBC's Doctor WHO novels, the odd horror novel here and there, and a LOT of reference materials), comics (his favorite being "Y - The Last Man"), movies (most genres, though he's most fond of Horror), TransFormers, HTML design and editing, video games, biking, NBA basketball and fantasy leagues, and going to conventions, especially Dragon*Con. The only MMORPG he plays is "City of Heroes", which he does enjoy a lot. He's an avid fan of Buffy and Angel, Supernatural, Blade - The Series, the Crocodile Hunter (RIP Steve), and a HUGE Crow fan. He also counts forensics, zoology, astronomy, and psychology among his less-fannish interests. Some of his favorite music artists and groups are: U2, Rush, Lifehouse, Yes, Rob Zombie, Filter, Dido, Tara MaClean, Bif Naked, Pearl Jam, the Cranberries, Blue Oyster Cult, Natalie Merchant, Rasputina, Michelle Branch, Creed, Lacuna Coil, The Gathering, Evanescence and Vanessa Carlton. Randall has been dabbling in RPG's for about 18 years. He started out playing D&D, Paranioa, and the original Marvel and D.C. systems as well. Since meeting his current batch of friends a few years ago, he's also played M.E.R.P, Ravenloft, Run out the Guns, and MAGE - The Ascension. Aside from the Buffy and Angel corebooks and suppliments, he also owns the Mutants and Masterminds, Silver Age Sentinels, Serenity, and Army of Darkness RPGs, but has yet to run them. His first real stint as a GM came when he ran a Champions game a few years back that was very well received. That campaign focused on a group of low-level would-be superheroes, the kind you'd see in "Mystery Men", and he played it largely for laughs. He's brought that same sense of humor and fun into his Buffy campaign, which was a rousing success in its original run. Now he's back for more. God help him.
Bio: Emily lives in Huntington, West Virginia, and she is currently working on a Music Performance (clarinet) major and a major in Art (Graphic Design & Illustration). She is 25, and perhaps she'll graduate before she reaches senior citizen status. Her hobbies include reading (Jim Butcher, Eric Flint, Steven Brust, Anne&Todd McCaffrey, Margaret Weis and Tracy&Laura Hickman, Richard Knaak), playing her clarinet, building websites, creating various art stuff such as freelancing and character art, worshipping at Steve Jobs's Temple, playing strategy games, various card games, biking, and playing various RPGs. Emily says that her favorite RPGs would have to be Buffy RPG (duh!), Rifts, White Wolf, and D&D, and she's currently running her own D&D campaign.
Bio: Crystal is a 31-year old graduate from Marshall University's College of Liberal Arts with a Bachelors in Clinical Psychology. She is the wife of Randy "Corvus" Lilly and shares the parenting responsibility of Chelsea. Crystal works for a calling-center here in Huntington where she does telemarketing. Crystal's hobbies include collecting unicorns, and all things Eeyore, listening to music, watching movies, reading, hanging out with family and/or friends or any combination of the above. During the hiatus of the Natalie the Vampire Slayer RPG, she has become a fan of Firefly and Serenity. So of the Joss Whedon trifecta, her favorite is still Angel, but Firefly/Serenity is a very close second with Buffy the Vampire Slayer bringing up the rear. She also enjoys many other tv shows and movies too numerous to list. This game was her first attempt at an RPG and she was initially only interested due to being a fan of Buffy, and of course wanting to spend time with the hubby. However, she's since come to enjoy the other aspects of the game. On a side note, she chose Raven as her online persona before Randy chose Corvus. Crystal's is due to Edgar Allen Poe, his is of course due to the movie, The Crow. Neener!
Bio: Tom lives in Huntington WV, and is 33 years of age. He has been married to his beautiful wife, Tish, for 3 years, and they have an awesome son named Xander. Tom states that he has nearly gotten his degree from Marshall but is both Lazy and Broke =-) He enjoys all sorts of RPGs, but a few he just doesn't care for. Some that He enjoys are D&D, White Wolf, Shadowrun, Deadlands, Buffy. Tom says that he honestly like most Games and systems, with a few notable exceptions. Most notablely Rifts and anything to do with Palladium. Tom has been many things in his life, a living an example of the old curse "May you live in interesting times." He is or has been a Student, Son, Husband, Cult Leader, Carpenter, Electrician, Sailor, Firefighter, Radio Operator, POW, Tech. Support Manager, Role Player, Arrogant Ass, Uninspired Artist, and Acquitted Felon. There are probabaly more but these are the things that come quickly to his mind. His current hobbies include: Sculpting, Music, Gaming, and praticing his very own personal brand of evil. 8)
Bio: After having been away for a couple of years, Bryan has recently moved back to the Huntington area, and is getting back into the gaming swing. Among his hobbies, he lists reading (Harry Potter, H.P. Lovecraft, Lots of RPG series, general horror, sci-fi and fantasy), Watching DVD's (tons of types), Listening to music (of course tons), and playing PC games. He has a degree in liberal arts from OSU. As for RPG's, Bryan plays or has played TONS, such as the various D&D systems, Deadlands, Palladium world games, Shadowrun, Buffy, In Nomine, White wolf, and who knows what else. On a side note, Bryan is a Minion for twilight games (a demo runner for their games) and has their entire Zombies!!! line and lovesto demo the game at various hobby stores. So, keep your eyes peeled folks!
Bio: Charles is the ninth wonder of the world, killer of bad-guys, game master, OG - Original Gamer (Sing it Ice-T!), an all-around crazy monkey, and keeper of the sacred lighter! Charles also now firmly believes that life begins at 30 (Har!). Charles' hobbies include gaming (well, duh!) reading a buttload of books (He really enjoys the works of David Eddings and David Drake), watching movies as time allows (far too many favorites to list), listening to music (again, his tastes are very eclectic, and he has too many faves to list), shooting bad-guys (He's in the military, and is thus allowed), playing lots of video games, and confusing fellow MMORPG players and making them question their already tenuous hold on their sexuality. As far as RPG's go, while he prefers some systems to others, Charles has yet to meet one he didn't like. He's been playing D&D for so long, he can remember when "Elf" wasn't a race, but a CLASS!
These folks are gone, but certainly not forgotten. Some, however, have vowed to return as soon as they are able. Heh, they must be gluttons for punishment or something,
Bio: Teddy's hobbies include reading Fantasy, Horror, Science Fiction, and steamy Romance Novels... er... Power Tool Manuals. Writing short fiction, watching B-Grade Sci-Fi movies, and trying to Save Farscape. He is 28 years old. He has a wide variety of RPG experience, which includes: MMORPG, and CCG's. Played AD&D 2nd & 3rd Ed., Shadowrun, Deadlands, Brave New World, Star Wars, 7 Sea's, Buffy, Farscape, Run out the Guns, Kobold's Ate my Baby, EverQuest, Ulitma Online, L5R, Pokemon, Rage:CCG, and many, many more. Teddy has degrees in Computer Sciences and Honory Culinary Arts. He's also an Ordained Minister (avabile for all your marrying, burying, and exorcising needs) Herald-level GM and member of RPGA and father of a wonderful, brillant son.
Bio: Tabitha is a 23 year-old graduate of Marshall University, who has a shiny, new English Degree. She's a collector of stray animals and, occassionally, people, like her boyfriend Alex. She's not sure if its a habit she developed, or a vocation. But, in lots of ways, it characterizes her pretty well. She's always taking care of someone or something, often that someone is Alex. She's relatively new to gaming, but enjoys it very much. She's already racked up some time with the polyhedral-dice on campaigns for Mage - The Ascension, D & D, and a little bit of Buffy. Tabitha is amusingly known as Emily's imaginary friend, due to her habit of being occasionally reclusive. Watch how she vanishes before our very eyes! Among Tabitha's likes and interests are things like acting, alternative music, animals, books, chocolate, comedy, costuming, country music, fantasy, hats, mcog, mystery, penguins, ren. faires, rpgs, science fiction, socks, song parodies, theatre, and writing. She's a big fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and is still trying to get caught up on Angel. She's also a budding Doctor Who fan, and blames Corvus for that condition. Her dislikes include allergies, conflict, shopping, RPG owls (long story), and having her photo taken. Whoops, there she goes! Tabitha is nearing graduation, and as such, her class-loads would beggar the imaginations of most mortals. So, she's taking a bit of a break from the gaming scene, until her life gets a little less crazy. We all await her return with great anticipation.
Bio: Teresa hails from St. Louis, and has recently enrolled here at Marshall University. She's brand-spanking-new to the RPG scene, and is already enjoying herself a great deal. Teresa is 20 years old. Teresa has a lot of fannish interests, including Anime, Fan Fiction, Movies, Romance Novels, Science Fiction and Fantasy, Horses, and Television shows. Some of her favorite films include Serenity, the Star Wars series, the Star Trek series, the Harry Potter series, and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Her favorite TV shows include House, Lost, Firefly, both Stargate series, Farscape, the X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel (duh!), and her newest favorite show, DOCTOR WHO. Speaking of Doctor Who, she's a big, big fan of the 10th Doctor, David Tennant, and wants to have his children. Teresa had to return home to St. Louis, but hopes to come back in the near future, and resume her gaming ways.
Bio: Born in the city of Hong Kong, Ruess/Darwin was forced to flee when he developed his own style of martial arts and killed a man with his bare hands. On the run from the law...wait a minute. That's the Bruce Lee story. Oh, I see... from here, Darwin came to Huntington on a John Marshall Scholarship, which he promptly squandered. He now tries to find enough games, Superman comics, and anime to keep himself emotionally afloat. Oh, and he's a karaoke DJ. He stands 5'10, and counts Enraged Hillbilly Boxing as his fighting style. And, you should all know, he claims to be the Man of Tomorrow, Today! As far as gaming goes, what system HASN'T the man played or at least glanced over? He's currently playing Mage, Demon, and Buffy. But in times past, he's played nearly everything there is.
