Lieutenant to the Big Bad - Season 2 The hulking, battle-hungry Danish Vampire called Fenris was originally sired as the time of the Vikings came to an end in the Northlands, his culture and religion eventually succumbing to the spread of Christianity throughout Europe, a development he despised. Fenris is a rare type of Vampire called a Draugr, with blue-black skin and a bloated appearance. His blood-red eyes are horrible to behold, and he leaves the stench of corruption in his wake. Draugr have more in common with Ghouls than they do other Vampires. Soon after being turned, Fenris, adorned in the skin of a wolf, cut a bloody swath though the ranks of Christian missionaries, and doing so each time in Odin's name. He found like-minded comrades in the form of a fiery Demon whom he dubbed Surtr, and a Troll calling himself Ymir. He and his companions wreaked a lot of havoc over the years, eventually raising the ire of the people they preyed upon. His partners in crime did not survive the reprisals that followed, but the crafty Fenris managed to escape. His name still brings unease to the locals of Northern Europe. Fenris proved to be a valuable soldier for the Order, and he soon became of of their generals. However, he finally met his match at the edge of Mitran Prodan's axe-blade, and met a dusty fate. Varnae soon resurrected Fenris to give him a second shot, but even his determination to get revenge on Mitran proved inadequate, and he fell to Mitran once more, for all time.
To Fenris, the old Norse eddas are not tales of myth, but a way of life and historical fact. His dedication to the way of the Viking is total. Fenris has fully pledged himself to the cause of the Order, feeling that their goals will bring about Ragnarök itself, the famed twilight of the Gods. He longs to fight the battles that will surely follow in its wake.
While Fenris is vulnerable to sunlight, staking, and decapitation, for him most holy symbols hold no fear. Ultimately he acknowledges no gods but those of Asgard, and his deep conviction has granted him near-invulnerability when faced with the cross, consecrated ground. and holy-water. Other holy symbols like the Star of David and the Ankh are likewise useless against him.
![]() Lieutenant to the Big Bad - Season 2 The "Obsidian Death" of the Aztecs, Itzmiquiztli was once a vicious warrior who bitterly fought the Spanish as they gradually conquered Mexico and its peoples. The Conquistadors regarded him as an inhuman demon, because he often attacked at night, making absolutely no sound as he used his obsidian daggers to slay his enemies while they slept. His efforts against the invaders continued long after many Aztec cities capitulated to Spanish pressure. Eventually, the Spanish set a trap for their wily foe, and captured him alive, finding that their foe was no demon, but rather a man. That, however, would soon change. The Spanish locked him in irons, and took him back to Spain where they planned to make an example of him before the king. This was not to be, as Itzmiquiztli was soon freed by unknown benefactors, and he vanished into the night. Weeks later, the Aztec warrior returned, and his victims soon found, to their horror, that their foe was now the undead demon they previously believed him to be. Over the period of a few weeks he slew many Spanish soldiers before vanishing once more. Rumors soon spread that Itzmiquiztli had returned to his native lands in Mexico. Those rumors would later turn out to be true, because that's exactly where Drusilla found him. He promptly accepted her offer to become a Lieutenant in the reborn Order of Aurelius. He became a valuable field-commander, but he finished up falling to Sean Williams rage during the battle of Huntington.
It must also be mentioned that he and Fenris have become fast comrades, likely due to their mutal distain for Christianity.
Itzmiquiztli is a quick, catlike warrior, who is deadly in close-combat, thanks to his proficiency with his razor-sharp Obsidian daggers.
![]() Lieutenant to the Big Bad - Season 2 Lyle and his brother, Tector, made a name for themselves back in 1886 by slaughtering an entire Mexican village. And this was BEFORE they became Vampires. The two brothers eventually ran afoul of Buffy, but their timing was so poor that Tector fell victim to the demon-creature called Bezoar. Lyle beat feet after that, but returned a year later as a part of Mr. Trick's Slayerfest 98. He survived the experience, but his new wife, Candy, didn't. He was sent packing by Cordelia, who had bluffed Lyle into thinking that she was actually Faith. Shortly thereafter, Lyle wound up in Cleveland, and managed to make an enemy of Dan Durkin, who is still looking to dust the cagey Texas vamp. Lyle isn't on the Council itself, but he has joined the Order. The Council-members know he isn't suited for much beyond high-end cannon fodder, but realize he does have his uses because of his considerable experience. When the Order made its big push, Lyle fough in the Battle of Huntington. However, when the tide turned against them, Lyle found an opportunity to escape into the Ohio River, and he took it. He hasn't been seen since, and is presumed to be at-large.
While somewhat cowardly, Lyle is a skilled hand-to-hand fighter, and also dangerous with a six-shooter in each hand.
![]() Lieutenant to the Big Bad - Season 2 To look at him, you'd think that Doc was a kindly, scatter-brained old man with a great deal of occult knowledge. Unfortunately, only the part about the occult knowledge is actually true. Doc is not kindly, nor is he scatter-brained, and it seems that he's not even a man at all, at least not any longer. It's unclear whether Doc is some type of Demon, or a man who became corrupted and transformed by his dabbling in the dark-arts. Following the death of Joyce Summers, Dawn began to look for ways to bring her mother back and Spike took her to Doc, who gave her some supplies and a means to accomplish her goal. She forged on, despite his warning that the results may prove to be something she didn't expect or desire. She used the supplies and information given to her, and began the spell. However, after talking with Buffy, Dawn broke the spell before it could be completed by tearning up her mother's photo, which had been a vital part of the process. Later on, when the Scoobies were in need of more information on Glory, Spike and Xander went to Doc. However, they soon found out that Doc was one of Glory's acolytes, and discovered his demonic nature. He keeps them at bay with lashes from a 6-foot tongue, and bursts of extreme speed. Together, they overcame him, and Xander ran him through with a sword. However, that wasn't the end of him. Later, when the gang battled Glory to the finish, Doc appeared atop the junk-tower where Dawn was being held, and advanced on her with a large knife. With an assist from Willow and Tara, Spike was able to break through the crowd of minions so that he could run to the top of the tower to rescue Dawn. However, Doc managed to overcome an already battered and weakened Spike, and tossed him off the tower. From there, Doc made shallow cuts across Dawn's stomach, and the flowing blood opened the portal that would rip the dimensions open and allow Glory to return home. Soon, Buffy defeated Glory, and ran to the top of the tower to save Dawn. Doc turned and attempted to attack Buffy, who simply shoved him aside and off the tower, where he fell to his then-presumed death. Buffy would go on to sacrifice herself to close the portal, and save the world. However, as Doc had previously shown, he's rather hard to kill. He slinked off to heal, and soon departed from Sunnydale entirely and eventually wound up in New York City and again set up shop as a magical informant to the underworld. Because of his vast occult knowledge, he correctly reasoned that the collapse of the Hellmouth in Sunnydale would have repercussions around the world, and began to keep his ears to the proverbial ground. When the Order of Aurelius began recruiting, Doc offered his services and was immediately accepted due to his reputation. Now he serves as a mystic advisor and mage to the Order, lending his considerable abilities to their rapidly growing power-base. What even Doc didn't realize is that he was on a collison-course with the now-ensouled Spike. Their second encounter ended up being a no-contest when Doc managed to escape the Sunnydale ruins. However, the third time proved to be the charm. When Spike and the other scoobies made their direct attack on the Order's Bavarian castle, Spike managed to corner Doc and the pair fought what would be their final battle. When the struggle ended, all that remained of Doc was a pile of smouldering, oily ash.
