Subordinate Big Bad - Season 2 One of the most notorious Vampires who ever lived, Drusilla's cruelty is as legendary as her insanity and her psychic gifts. Discovered In 1860 by the notorious Vampire known as Angelus, Drusilla lived a simple life as a devout Catholic who was troubled by her prophetic visions. Angelus would soon become obsessed with her, and resolved to make her his greatest creation. To that end, Angelus decided to make her life a misery. He soon slaughtered her whole family before her terrified eyes. And the traumatized young woman would subsequently retreat to a convent, seeking both safety and solace. However, she would soon find that there was no safe haven, not even within the walls of the church. Drusilla decided to devote the rest of her life to God, and studied to become a nun. On the night she took her holy vows, Angelus appeared and slaughtered many of the convents members, and finally turned on Drusilla herself, draining her unto the point of death, and then forcing her to drink from him in return, turning her into a Vampire like himself. The result of all this cumulative horror drove Drusilla completely insane, but enhanced her psychic gifts even further. In the end, Angelus had created exactly what he had hoped for, and more. Drusilla joined Angelus and Darla, becoming something of a family. A family that would grow larger 20 years later when Drusilla encountered a heartbroken young poet named William, and turned him into a Vampire. William would come to be known as Spike, a Vampire whose deeds would eventually rival those of Angelus himself. However, the family would begin to fall apart when Angelus was cursed with a soul, and in the aftermath Darla abandoned both Drusilla and Spike. The pair stayed together for decades afterwards, committing one atrocity after another, as Angelus took the name Angel, and grew more and more sullen and guilt-ridden. Eventually, Drusilla's deeds caught up with her, and she was captured by a vengeful mob in Prague. She was tortured to the point of extreme injury and weakness. Spike rescued her and took her to Sunnydale where she might eventually heal. And, a few months later, heal she did, although Spike was severely injured in the process. Shortly thereafter, a night of passion with Buffy, the Slayer, caused Angel to lose his soul and become Angelus once more. Angelus quickly took advantage of Spike's state, and renewed his old relationship with Drusilla. As Angelus uncovered the demon Acathla and resolved to destroy the world, Spike, who had kept his recovery a secret, felt compelled to oppose his grand-sire. This led to an alliance with Buffy that would eventually shatter his relationship with Drusilla forever. A short time later, Drusilla re-emerged when Wolfram & Hart resurrected Darla (as a human), Drusilla's grand-sire, as a weapon in their struggle with Angel, who was now a champion of the Powers that Be. Drusilla had been recruited by the evil firm to re-sire Darla, a move that pushed Angel over the edge into Darkness. The move backfired on most of Wolfram & Hart's VP's when Darla and Drusilla decided to crash a party hosted by the head of the firm, Holland Manners, whereupon they soon slaughtered most of the guests. Angel, who had decided against stopping the carnage the pair unleashed against Wolfram & Hart, later gained a measure of revenge against Darla and Drusilla by setting the two of them on fire. After that, Drusilla soon decided to leave L.A and Darla behind, and after making a failed attempt to re-capture Spike's heart, she promptly went into hiding. Following the collapse of the Hellmouth in Sunnydale, Drusilla received a vision of Varnae's return, and she herself tracked down and gathered the most powerful Vampires on Earth to her side in order to revive him with an offering of their blood. Drusilla is hungry for the chaos and carnage that Varnae and the Order will bring should their dreams be realized, and is prepared to do almost anything to help them realize their goals. Though still insane, Drusilla is easily as focused as she has ever been, and this combination of mania and purpose has made her more dangerous than ever.
Drusilla is also gifted with psychic abilities, most potent of which is her penchant for precognition and the ability to mesmerize a foe. While not as gifted at physical combat as Angel, Spike, or Darla, Drusilla can hold her own. Her fighting prowess combined with her mental powers proved to be too much for Kendra, whom Drusilla killed with relative ease despite the young Slayer's formidable training.
